What happens if you get a building kit but you don't follow the directions? You end up with a finished project that doesn't work right or doesn't stay together, because it wasn't built the way its designer knew it needed to be.
The same thing is true for our lives. Our designer and creator is God, and He created each one of us for a very special purpose. But we can't figure out how we're supposed to live on our own. The Trailbook (Bible) gives us directions to help us. It is filled with God's words to us. His plan is always best, so it's important to follow the directions in the Trailbook and do what God tells us.
Noah knew this, even though he lived a long time ago. The Bible hadn't been written yet, so God talked to him and told him what he needed to do. He followed God's directions even though no one else did, and God rescued his family from a flood that covered the whole earth!
