Harvey didn't have to go anywhere to explore the next planet: Earth! God made the earth very special, and it is the only planet that has life on it.

Here are some really cool facts about our planet:

Earth is the only planet that has liquid water on its surface. That's important, because we need water to live!

Earth is also the only planet where the atmosphere has exactly the right mixture of gases for us to breathe and live. It's 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other ingredients.

The earth is the third planet from the sun, which is the perfect distance for our planet's temperatures to support life. It's not too close to the sun, which would make it too hot, and it's not too far away from the sun to make it too cold.

It takes the earth 24 hours to rotate on its axis, which is one Earth day. When it's dark at night, it's not because the sun has moved. It just means the part of the earth that's dark has rotated away from the sun.

It takes the earth 365 days to complete its orbit around the sun, which is one Earth year. There are four seasons in each year: winter, spring, summer, and fall.

The earth has no rings and one moon. Twelve people have actually walked on the surface of the moon!

Earth's atmosphere doesn't just help us breathe. It also protects us by keeping incoming meteoroids from hitting the earth's surface. Most of them break up in our atmosphere.

You can read all about how God created the earth in Genesis 1 in your Trailbook or Bible. Or click here to read it online!
